The Alaska Public Lands Informaion Center Fieldtrip

We visited the Alaska Public Lands Information Center last week and we learned a lot of interesting information about Alaska.
We learned that Alaska has four types of public lands:
1. State Parks
2. National Parks
3. National Forests
4. National Wildlife Refuges.

We learned that public lands are lands owned by the people of the United States and/or Alaska. These lands belong to all of us and are for our use, enjoyment and inspiration. We also found out that we are really lucky in Alaska as there are over 300 million acres of public lands to enjoy.

We then watched a movie on Alaska's coolest swimmers like Orca whales, Alaska's coolest walkers like Brown Bears, and Alaska's coolest fliers like Bald Eagles.
Lastly, we participated in a scavenger hunt and located many animals throughout the information center according to the clues provided.

We had a blast learning about Alaska!
