We are currently learning about Alaskan Animals so we were thrilled when the Alaska Wildlife Refuge and Conservation Center sent two wonderful ladies out to visit us last week! They performed a puppet show for us and had lots of great information to share about Alaskan Animals!
The puppet show was about a black bear cub named Sky who was separated from his mother. Sky becomes friends with some other Alaskan Animals (a bald eagle, a moose and a bison) and finds a safe new home at the Alaska Wildlife Refuge and Conservation Center. The students loved the story and learning new facts about Alaskan Animals.
The kiddos also had the chance to get their hands on bison horns and feel a bison pelt.
The class really enjoyed taking a close look at a bald eagle beak, egg, and talon. As well as touching a caribou horn and feeling a brown bear pelt.
What a wonderful way to learn more about the animals that live in Alaska!
