Groundhogs & Gruffalos

You have probably heard of the groundhog but have you heard of the Gruffalo?

February in our classroom has been 'full of fun' and full of 'Groundhogs & Gruffalos'!

We celebrated the tradition of Groundhog Day.  We learned many facts about groundhogs, read a poem about a groundhog, ate a Groundhog Day treat, and made a groundhog craft.  Thank you to the Milne family for sending in the chocolate pudding cups for the Groundhog Day treat.

We also went to see the play The Gruffalo performed by Tall Stories Theatre Company at the Anchorage Performing Arts Center.  The story, written by Julia Donaldson, has become a class favorite this year and after the performance each student decorated a Gruffalo cupcake.  Thank you to the Gum family for sending in the chocolate cupcakes for us to decorate.
