Anchorage Fire Department Safety Presentation

The Anchorage Fire Fighters from Station #7 on Jewel Lake Road visited us last week. A big THANK YOU to Jonathon's dad (a fire fighter from the station mentioned above) for arranging the safety presentation.

The fire fighters reminded us to never play with matches, to call 911 in case of an emergency, and to stop-drop-and-roll if our clothes catch fire.

The fire fighters also showed us how they get dressed when they get called to respond to a fire. After the fire fighter was dressed up in all his gear it was difficult to recognize him and he sounded funny breathing through his mask. We promised the fire fighters that if we were ever caught in a fire we wouldn't run away from them.

We also learned about the fire truck and all of the tools that the fire fighters use. After a tour of the fire truck and the compartments on the truck, we got to sit in the truck just like real fire fighters!
