One 'Lucky' Class

Wow - what a fun St. Patrick's Day!

We were all sure to wear GREEN so that we wouldn't get pinched!

We even had three students sport some festive St. Patrick's Day head gear!
Annemarie wore a sparkly green hat.
Max wore a shamrock headband.
Riley wore a sparkly creen tiara.

In the morning we did Lucky Charm math. Each student got a handful of Lucky Charms cereal. Then each student graphed the number of marshmallow shapes found in the cereal and completed some basic addition and subtraction equations using the marshmallow cereal pieces. THANK YOU to all the wonderful parents in our class who donated Lucky Charms cereal!!!
At snack and story time we read the book Clever Tom and the Leprechaun and we ate some delicious homemade sugar cookies baked by William and his family. Thanks Andresen family - Yum, Yum, Yum!

In the afternoon we completed our St. Patrick's Day packet by discovering a hidden leprechaun in a grid of squares and completing a worksheet on shamrock contractions.

At the end of the day we enjoyed green cupcakes with green icing and a piece of gold on top. Thank you to Noah and the Larson family, as well as Max and the Anders family, for providing the cupcakes!

Thank you as well to the VanCouwenberghe family for providing tasty drinks for our St. Patrick's Day festivities!
